Preserving Old Books
How do I Preserve old, decaying books?
I have two books originally bound in some sort of leather that were owned by my great-grandmother and have since been placed on a shelf. One has some sort of fluff coming out from where the cover is tearing and the other has some serious curling going on at the edges. I know there are resoration places that will work magic in bringing the books as close to good condition as is possible, but right now I’m just concerned with keeping them from getting any worse. How should I store the books to ensure that they don’t continue along the course of damage already done?
